چکیده
Bacteremia is a bacterial infection that enters the bloodstream. This study was designed to investigate if culture methods could detect of bloodstream and assess certain criteria for sepsis in culturable non-culturable blood samples from hospitalized patients, like C-reactive protein (CRP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), complete count (CBC). A total 100 patients with symptoms who resided Hilla City hospital were collected as well 25 healthy control group without disease or inflammation. Each sample divided into three containers; 2ml an EDTA tube CBC test, 3ml centrifuged CRP LDH 3-7ml brain heart infusion broth culture. The result showed 65 (65%) had abnormal tests, whereas only (25%) positive. There statistically significant difference between regarding all parameters CRP, LDH, white cell (WBC), lymphocyte (LYM) granulocyte (GRA) (P= 0.000). No association studied observed culture-positive culture-negative patients. Significant strong positive correlation WBC (r= 0.332) (p= 0.007), LYM GR) -0.983) 0.000), 0.257) 0.03), GRA 0.254) 0.04). Therefore, estimation WBC, granulocytes, lymphocytes count, values results may help early identification causative agent sepsis.

Background: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between early onset sepsis and increased levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in cord plasma. Methods: A prospective study was conducted in 141 premature infants delivered with gestational ages of 26-35 weeks. IL-6 and CPR were measured by enzyme-linked immunoassay in the cord plasma of the neonates. ...

Background and Objectives: Strenuous exercises have been shown to induce inflammation. However, consumption of products rich in antioxidants such as vitamin C may enhance this effect. The purpose of this study was to assess effects of vitamin C supplementation on C-reactive protein, lactate and blood pressure following resistance exercise in overweight men. Materials and Methods: In a randomiz...

The aim of this study was to evaluate procalcitonin (PCT), C-reactive protein (CRP), platelet count (PLT) and serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) as early markers for diagnosis of SIRS, bacterial sepsis and systemic candidiasis in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Based on blood culture results, the patients were divided into a sepsis group (70 patients), a SIRS group (42 patients) and a system...
